Tom Brennan has sixteen years of experience with small business insurance programs, working with sole proprietors, contractors, restaurants, retailers, and multi-location shops as they figured out what coverage they needed and in what order.

He edits Insurance 8020’s small business coverage, including business owner’s policies, general liability, and the umbrella layers that sit over them. His approach is practical: start with what a lease, a client contract, or a state law requires, then add what protects the business from the losses that would actually sink it.

He has a soft spot for family-run businesses, having grown up working the counter at one.
